I normally don’t cover indie bands at all, but when the story about Hypernova popped into my inbox, I felt it would be prudent to at least give them a look…here’s the story: a bunch of guys, all originally from Iran, started a band in Iran and played at various clubs in Iran. The only problem is western music of any kind is illegal…gives new meaning to the term underground clubs. Anyway, they eventually got through to the American media and were granted visas to the US, and now play and tour in the United States (where you can do almost anything on a stage, search “Goldfinger” and “twinkie”)…they’re a pretty solid rock group and, although not as energetic as some of the other acts I’ve covered, very well rounded and fun to see live…
